During Malmö Gallerihelg 2025 (26-28 september) a group of photographers with a niche in capturing food, people and the restaurant industry will showcase their work in a unique exhibition in Västra Hamnen, Malmö.

Pierre Orsander

Food content creator & entrepreneurPhotographer, event organizer, writer, content creator, podcast and TV producer—the list of roles Pierre has taken on within the world of food is starting to get extensive. Pierre is behind Skitgott, Ät01, International Falafel Award, Falafelfestivalen, Burgarnatten, FOODGUIDE.se, Gatumat & Gourmet, Gastronomipodden and more. With Foodography, he adds exhibition curator to the list. EXHIBITING:"Stereotypes"A picture says more than a thousand words. So when a bunch of chefs get portrayed in a similar style only with two colors at hand, what does each individual portrait tell you? Who are they, what do they have in common and how do they differ? In "Stereotypes" i will leave it up to the viewer to make their own assumptions.

Julie Chiron

Food photographer and social media managerParis-born food photographer and Social Media Manager, raised by chefs and now based in Copenhagen. She works with a wide range of restaurants, from neighborhood bistros to Michelin-starred kitchens, shaping their visual identity and digital presence. She is also the founder of Pimientos Fritos Communication, a creative agency focused on digital storytelling for the food and hospitality industry.EXHIBITING:"Smashed"What happens when we stop treating food as an object to admire and show what’s left after we’ve devoured it? “Smashed” is a photographic series that captures the messy, emotional aftermath of eating.Using bold framing, these images document dishes in disarray, half-finished, spilled, smeared. Not styled, but lived in.This work is about appetite over aesthetics. It’s a portrait of craving, chaos, and pleasure, served not on the plate, but in the wreckage left behind.

César Ortiz

Freelance photo- and videographerVideographer with passion for video and film, focusing on media production for communication purposes. Freelance correspondent in Scandinavia for Colombian national television. He has done photography collaborations for Vice magazine and is co-founder of the magazine www.buddhamag.org and Creative Mornings Malmö.EXHIBITING:"Eat"Food in media is glamorous, curated, almost sterile. But that’s not how we actually eat. Eat is a photozine that focuses not on food itself, but on the people eating it. No filters. Just raw enjoyment.

Tim Björkman

Chef and hobby photographer27 years old and from Malmö. After many years in the restaurant industry—right in the heat of the kitchen and the daily grind—I now want to explore the kitchen from a different perspective: through photography. The focus is on low culture and the spaces where light rarely shines. It’s about the flip side of food: leftovers, stains, and the chaos of everyday life. The intended impression is spontaneous, unplanned, and honestly messy.EXHIBITING:"Stains"This photo exhibition takes you behind the kitchen door — into the mess, the grease, and the everyday beauty of food without filters. It’s not about perfect plating or glossy surfaces. Instead, it celebrates leftovers, spills, stains, and the odd little moments that usually get wiped away before the camera ever comes out.

Nils Sjöholm

PhotographerMalmö-based photographer, that love creating pictures and collaborate with clients with an interesting vision. Whether it's food, drink, or the atmosphere around it, I’m always drawn to the intersection of craft, culture, and aesthetics. Other than food and drink he's a bit of a Swiss army knife and do different kinds of photos. Mainly as a press- and portrait photographer, but also drawn to the still life as well, and his favorite is the combination of the both worlds - capturing the movement of people and the stillness of subjects while playing with the light.EXHIBITING:"Behind the Bar"At first glance, the cocktails at BISe prepared and made by Mikael Melzer Nilsson might seem understated. But beneath their appearance lies a complex process – precise, thoughtful, and full of craft. Each drink is the result of hours of experimentation, careful technique, and a deep understanding of ingredients.In this series, I wanted to capture that hidden complexity. By placing the cocktails in carefully chosen surroundings that reflect their ingredients and the effort behind them, I aimed to make the invisible visible – to show not just what’s in the glass, but the story behind it.

Christina Uhlin

PhotographerChristina grew up in Sundsvall, studied photography in Stockholm and eventually found her way down to Skåne, where she is now based with a studio on the Bjäre Peninsula.After years working as a food photographer and studio manager at Aller Media, Christina now run her own business, focusing on what she love the most: people, food and drinks.Her passion is to create images that tell stories, spark curiosity and make the world a little bit more beautiful.EXHIBITING:"Terroir"Photographer Christina Uhlin has for several years followed Swedish vineyards with her camera, from harvests to historic moments such as the premiere of small-scale farm sales of alcoholic beverages on June 1, 2025.The exhibition captures what is known as terroir: the interplay between soil, climate, place, and traditions – that which makes every wine unique. A fingerprint of the nature and culture where it was created.In this exhibition, I want to highlight the terroir of Swedish vineyards: the environments, the people, and the moments that shape our wines. With my camera, I capture not only images of vines and glasses, but stories of passion, persistence, and the dream of creating something authentic that carries the imprint of our very own place in the world.

Torbjörn Lagerwall & Sanna Ohlander

Food stylist and photographerTorbjörn Lagerwall is a photographer specializing in commercial imagery and food photography. Sanna Ohlander is a chef and food stylist. Together, they run Ventilstudios in Malmö – a creative space where ingredients, imagery, and storytelling come together in harmony.Their collaborative work spans cookbooks, advertising, and artistic projects – always with a focus on the raw material and a strong visual identity.EXHIBITING:”Root & Reveal”Root & Reveal explores the quiet beauty of transformation.Each diptych pairs raw, unwashed produce in its natural, earthy state with its culinary counterpart – carefully prepared, seasoned, and plated.These visual conversations invite the viewer to consider food not just as fuel, but as a process of becoming. From soil to seasoning, from potential to fulfillment – we trace a journey shared by all living things. Every photo is a before and after – but also a beginning and a becoming.

Christoffer Lomfors

PhotographerMalmö-based photographer and cinematographer with a background in design and a long-standing love for visual storytelling. His work spans commercial imagery, portraiture, and documentary photography — often blending the polished with the poetic.Drawn to people, form, and atmosphere, Christoffer thrives on turning abstract ideas into tangible visuals. He’s particularly interested in the space where concept meets craft, exploring contrasts like surface and substance, stillness and motion, beauty and utility. Whether he’s building a narrative from scratch or helping others shape theirs, his work always starts with curiosity — and a clear vision worth capturing.EXHIBITING:"Cibus Aurum"We cover the essential in gold, and call it progress.Cibus Aurum ("gold food") is a visual study of contradiction — a series where once-edible ingredients are draped in gold, transformed into symbols of luxury, and rendered useless. What nourished becomes untouchable. What sustained becomes spectacle.The food is a metaphor — for how we treat not only our resources, but our planet. We elevate what glitters and ignore what matters. In our pursuit of refinement, convenience, and status, we risk destroying the very systems that keep us alive.These images reflect a hunger that has nothing to do with appetite. They ask: What do we worship? What do we waste? And what happens when beauty replaces function — not just on our plates, but in the world we’re building?

Jens Nordström

PhotographerWith a background in music photography, Jens has always been drawn to creative expression and cultural storytelling. Becoming a food photographer wasn’t part of the original plan — but while working on the cookbook Kryddor från Rosengård, his perspective began to shift.A growing interest in food, especially plant-based and locally sourced dishes, led him deeper into the field. Today, Jens works closely with Malmö restaurants, using a creative, story-driven approach to showcase their food and identity.Whether in the studio or on location, his focus remains clear: food, music, and people.EXHIBITING:"Two Forks, one Camera"What Charlotte and Matan have created is both welcoming and vibrant – shaped by an impressive sensitivity to ingredients and a constant curiosity for flavor. Matan is not just a chef, but a true master of taste, combining ingredients with instinctive precision and deep understanding. His cooking is guided equally by intuition and knowledge, resulting in dishes that consistently surprise and delight. Photographing food is a creative challenge I enjoy – it’s about looking beyond the edible and creating a still life. I think in color, shape, and light. What I value most is the freedom to interpret the food in my own way – but always in dialogue with someone who truly masters their craft. In our collaboration, ideas grow together.

Loc Vo

PhotographerBorn in Vietnam. Raised in Tennessee. Cultured in Sweden. Currently based in Lund, Sweden. My body is made up of 50% coffee, 30% Pho, 10% butter pecan ice cream, and 10% mango.Loc got into photography to simply give himself a creative outlet, but it soon became his teacher of life. A picture is simply not just a picture. When the humanity of the moment is captured, we get to see beauty at its purest form, intimacy at its vulnerable moment, joy at its peak contagiousness, and life in all its colors.EXHIBITING: "FIKA - the art of living"The author Alan Downs once said that, at the end of the day, what other people really connect with is another person’s humanity, not his (or her) façade of perfection.As a photographer, my greatest growth has been developing the sensibility to notice, to observe, to truly see the humanity of the moment—whether it’s joy, sorrow, pain, love, or quiet contentment.And there’s no better place to witness this than over a fika at a local coffee shop, which so often serves as a community hub. Here, people from every walk of life cross paths. If you pay close enough attention, you realize that their experiences are not so different from your own. Love is still love. Pain is still pain. Joy is still joy. These emotions don’t discriminate—they connect us.And that, I believe, is why fika is an art of living.

Miriam Preis

PhotographerFood, feature and travel photographer, born in Warszaw and based in Malmö. The initial idea was to become a fashion photographer, but eating and being around chefs was more fun. Miriam Preis has now worked with food and restaurant photograpy for over a decade, following the journey of modern food culture. Miriam has traveled the world and met passionate chefs and foodies, she has photographed several cookbooks, most recently about the Greek cuicine. She works regularely for magazines and newspapers such as Gourmet, Svenska Dagbladet and Restaurangvärlden, preferably in a more documentary style rather than in a studio. What attracts her most are people, structured chaos and teamwork – and the fact that food is both extremely serious and a fleeting experience.EXHIBITING: "Food, faces and places"Every dish is a result of both its creator and its environment. The terroir affects the shape and flavour of the produce, whereas the chefs use their knowledge and creativity to enhance the quality of each ingredient. That’s why a potato in the hands of a Faroese chef never tastes the same as in the hands of a Parisian. This series is about this special connection: between the people, the location and what’s on the plate. A trinity as holy as any.

Martin Nordin

PhotographerFood photographer, art director and cookbook author. What began as weekend home cooking with friends grew into a passionate career behind the camera. Drawing on a background in advertising and communications, he crafts vivid images and compelling narratives for cookbooks and brands. With a focus on vegetarian cuisine, he aims to present dishes in a way that inspires and delights.EXHIBITING: "Prepping for Cooking"This exhibition features photographs of ingredients and the preparation stage before cooking. The images focus on the textures, colors, and details of raw ingredients, highlighting the quiet moments and contemplation before they become part of a dish. The beauty and simplicity of what goes into cooking, from ingredients to the process itself.

Hi! I'm a designer, content creator and entrepreneur who, for the last couple of years, have specialized within the category of food. During this time, i have had the opportunity to get to know some amazing photographers who have been doing beautiful work depicting food in various ways, depicting everything from destinations, people, interior, dishes and ingredients.

In this unique exhibition, i've invited 11 other photographers and 1 food stylist who will be showcasing their own take on how photography in combination with food can be represented into art, create emotion and leave the viewer with reflections both during the exhibition and after.

Personally, I can't wait to see the outcome of how each individual photographer chooses to interpret the theme of this exhibition. I truly hope you will enjoy it too on-location 26-28 september during our opening hours.
